Take Your Picture
Yellowstone, a cold morning in September 2014. I lived just outside the gates then and hiked it most days. The mist is steam coming off the hot springs. He was asleep when I found him, so I laid down flat, set the tripod, and waited. When he woke he must have caught my scent - took a few steps, stopped, and looked back at me. Like he was saying: I'm here, but I'm leaving. Take your picture. So I did.
